The Myanmar Coup began
February 1st, 2021.
In response, we reached out to the only local Burmese restaurant in Hong Kong to ask the city to Order for Peace.
Through a partnership with Club Rangoon, Hong Kong’s award-winning Burmese restaurant run by Myanmar-native Nelson Htoo, my copywriting partner and I launched a new type of menu that lead people to literally order for peace in Myanmar.
By rewriting the menu items to explain the current situation of Myanmar, we lead diners through an informative journey that ended with a final message: Stop the violence by asking the UN to intervene on behalf of the people of Myanmar.
Diners could then physically sign the menu and also scan a QR code to sign an actual UN petition.
Our collaboration sparked a series of fundraisers and educational events to benefit the people of Myanmar through Club Rangoon.
